THIS IS NOT A GOVERNEMENT WEBSITE!

PURPOSE of this Website: To present opportunities to those engaged in research for electric and other advanced vehicles, to engage in research related to their own research, earning some money for their efforts, as well as helping their country.  Note: Some of these are restricted to American citizens, or certain “Permanent Resident” or “protected” foreigners.

The current DoD Small-Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Solicitation, 2016.2, and the current Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Solicitation, 2016.B, are now open until June 22.

If you are an American engineer, working either by yourself or in a small company, receiving an SBIR or STTR Phase-I contract can give you the opportunity for developing something for the military that may build on your previous work, and may provide you with the opportunity to advance your knowledge and experience towards your own goals, while earning money that may finance further research.  (The STTR program is for small businesses that partner with non-profit research institutions.)  It may also lead to a Phase-II contract, which is more research, more knowledge, and more money.

You don't have to sign up just to look, but you do have to create an account and log in to make a proposal.

It is no longer possible to contact the Topic Authors.  But, in consolation, questions can be posted in a public interactive blog called SITIS until Wednesday, June 8.  You can also view questions posed by other SBIR / STTR contenders, and the answers from the Topic Authors, until Wednesday, June 22 at 06:00 EDT.    (This is further described in the Instructions.)  SITIS is accessible through the Interactive Topics Page by clicking on the topic.  You can view already-existing questions and answers by clocking on “Q&A”, but you need to have an account and log in to ask questions.  The website will prompt you to do so if needed.  (I suggest you copy these questions and answers into a separate file for future reference before the closing date.)

The deadline for submitting proposals is the wee hours of the morning on Wednesday, June 22.
The next DoD Solicitations are an SBIR and an STTR that have not been scheduled, but will probably be in pre-release sometime in August.

I have prepared a list of SBIR and STTR topics (click to see text file*) of interest to those engaged in developing electric cars and other advanced vehicles.

I have carefully tried to reflect the requirements as presented on the government webpages.  However, in case of a conflict between my webpages, and those of the government, the government webpages prevail — but I would appreciate it if you would inform me.  In case of a conflict between governement webapages, please contact the appropriate agency for clarification.  My experience is that they will listen and respond to you.
